"Support small biz" Interiors Addict feature
Well, I think it’s safe to say that 2020 has been a challenging year, both personally and professionally. I often experience about a dozen emotions in one working day and while that’s probably normal as a small business owner, I feel the intensity and frequency of these emotional swings are most definitely a sign of the times we’re in.
So when Jen from Interiors Addict, ( a fellow small business and one of my all-time favourite Australian interior design and decor blogs), reached out to her viewers about wanting to use her blog as a platform to spread the word about other small businesses, you can probably imagine the flood of emails and messages that ensued. And we too jumped at the opportunity.
In all of the chaos, overwhelm and fear that we’ve had to (and continue to) face in 2020, one theme that continues to show up and is so heart-warming to see, is the outpouring of support, unwavering generosity, steady championing and random acts of kindness that regular people have shown to one another.
I say regular people because that’s us — you and me. I say regular people also because behind every small business is a regular person with real struggles like everyone else.
So seeing small business owners banding together in this unsettling time to lift one another up along with the unwavering support of loyal fans and customers means more than what words can express. It’s what keeps us going. And if there’s one thing this year has taught us, it’s that we all have the power to make a difference and bring good into the world. And if there were ever a time the world needed more good, it’s now.
So please continue to support small and local where you can. Whether it’s leaving a great review, liking a post, commenting on a post, sharing their products and services with your own networks or buying from them if you are able to. Every little bit counts! xx
